Moderator Ian Skelly from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) joins Dr. Sabina Alkire from the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI), Kennedy Odede of Shining Hope for Communities, Radosveta Stamenkova from the Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association and Lidia Kemeny of the Vancouver Foundation to discuss tracing the linkages between social isolation and poverty.

Social isolation significantly impacts individual and community health, well-being, livelihoods, and resilience, and yet few programmes and policies currently address this issue directly.

We thank the Samuel Family Foundation, the Synergos Institute and TakingITGlobal for organizing the first symposium on Overcoming Isolation and Deepening Social Connectedness in October 2014.

We encourage you to visit their web site for more information website at www.socialconnectedness.org.
