The Nunavut Independent Television Network (NITV) in collaboration with IsumaTV will digitize 200 hours of existing Inuit media content, insuring cultural information is not lost.     Founded in 1998 to combat youth suicide with artistic opportunity, Artcirq has evolved into a community-based circus and multimedia organization, allowing northern and southern artists to bridge and meet in a meaningful and creative way.

     Igloolik Isuma Productions, Inc. was incorporated in January 1990 as Canada's first Inuit independent production company. Isuma is 75% Inuit-owned. The founding shareholders are Zacharias Kunuk (President), Paul Apak Angilirq (Vice-President), Pauloosie Qulitalik (Chairman), and Norman Cohn (Secretary-Treasurer).     Zacharias Kununk was born in Kapuivik on Baffin Island in Canada, and attended school in Igloolik. He carved and sold soapstone sculptures to afford movie admissions. As his skill improved, he was able to buy cameras, and photographed Inuit hunting scenes.… Uqalimakkanirit
