Aua: Pakak Innukshuk is a well know carver and actor based in Igloolik. He was a founding member of Pond Inlet's Toonooniq Theatre Group which performed local theatre pieces in Ottawa, Vancouver and Greenland in the 1980's. An experienced actor, Innukshuk played a major role in Isuma's last feature film, "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner".

Apak: Leah Angutimarik hails from Igloolik and was involved in the Artcirq Project, a Canada Council for the Arts supported project in which Inuit youth trained in the circus arts. She was also involved in another project which trained youth in different aspects of art, dance, and video. This is her first acting role in a film.

Orulu: Neeve Uttak has experience in TV as a host and producer. She hosted and produced videos for Igloolik's local television channel. She also played a small but crucial role in Isuma's film "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner".

Umiq: Samuelie Ammaq is a hunter and outfitter/guide. He has previously acted in "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner". He lived with his wife and children in an outpost camp for 15 years before moving to the settlement of Igloolik.

Qillaq: Eugene Ipkarnak is a hunter and gatherer. He played a major role in "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner". This is his second experience in a movie.

Evaluarjuk: Abraham Ulayuruluk is a hunter, carver, master storyteller, and singer. He played the evil shaman in "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner". This is his second role in a film.

Nuqallaq: Natar Ungalaaq is an internationally known carver and actor. In addition to being the star of "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner", has had numerous roles in major films including "Kabloonak", "Glory and Honor" and "Frostfire". Ungalaaq is also experienced in TV as a producer and director. He is now coordinating a project providing youth training in film, television, and new media.

Natar: Peter-Henry Arnatsiaq is a well know hunter and actor. He starred in "Atanarjuat The Fast Runner" as the jealous and angry Oki. He also had a role in John Houston's recent film "Diet of Souls".

Therkel Mathiassen: Jakob Cedergren had a broad career on stage before his big breakthrough in the TV-series "Edderkoppen" (2000). In 2003 he had his biggest role yet in the feature film "Rembrandt" which was a major success in Denmark. Cedergren has also appeared in "Den blamunk" (1998) and "De gronne slagtere" (2003). In 2005 he can be seen in "Bag det stille ydre" and "Voksne mennesker". He was named a European Shooting Star at this year's Berlin Film Festival.

Peter Freuchen: Kim Bodnia was one of the leading male stage players throughout the 90's. His breakthrough part on film was "Nattevagten" (1984 - later remade in Hollywood in 1996 as "The Nightwatch"). In 1996 he received critical acclaim for his part in "Pusher". In recent years Bodnia has appeared in "Bleeder" (1999), "I kina spiser de hunde" (1999) and "Den gode stromer" (2004).

Knud Rasmussen: Jens Jorn Spottag worked extensively both as a stage player and director before he began to appear in a string of films in the late 80's: "Rami og Julie" (1988) and "En verden til forskel" (1989). In 1993 he made himself known for his role in "Sort host". Three years later he starred in the TV-series "Bryggeren" (1996). Last year he could be seen in "Silkevej" (2004) and the very succesfull "Kongekabale" (2004). Spottag was featured in a new stage production of "Woyzeck," with music by Tom Waits that premiered in Copenhagen in 2001.

Arnarulunguaq: Sofie Danielson lives in Siorapaluk, north of Qaanaq with her boyfriend Tobias. Tobias' main occupation is hunting, while Sofie is taking care of their little daughter and the home, like a traditional hunter wife.

Miteq: Piuaitsoq Petersen works as a carpenter at the local factory. In his free time, he plays handball. He is on the Greenlandic national team and has a lot success with it.

Bosun: Qillaq Danielsen lives for hunting. The other day he came in with three polar bears. Besides the hunting life, he paints a lot, and a lot of his pictures are exhibited in Qaanaaq.

Bosun's Wife: Juaanna Platou is married to Qillaq and has the same fascination for the hunter life as her husband. Besides her educations as a teacher and priest she also is a writer and translator. She just wrote a book about life as a hunter.
