Program name: Inukshuk
Producer: Rankin Inlet – Inuit Broadcasting Corporation
Segment 1: In a tent, Elders (including Mariano Aupilardjuk of Rankin Inlet) teach young men how to bend a wood frame for making an Inuit drum using hot water. They also shave the wood, drill it, and attach it together with what looks a thick sinew thread. They attach the end of an ivory tusk for the handle and prepare and attach the synthetic drum fabric.
