Portrait de Edaanet'e
I started working in documentary film in the 1990s making programming for TVNC Television Northern Canada, before the network became APTN. As a filmmaker, I enjoyed working with friends and family traveling on Treaty 8 lands of Akaitcho Territory in the Northwest Territories. I mostly followed Wiiliideh land-users and documented community events as they happened. Documenting community in a meaningful way is important to me, but capturing life in our community as the people want to share it and respecting cultural boundaries is a priority. Over the years, through experience and additional education, I am interested in telling more compelling and powerful stories for a broader audience. I believe the key to good documentary filmmaking is getting access into communities where network cameras rarely tread. I am attracted to making films about remarkable individuals who are mavericks in their own worlds.See more
