How do you like Igloolik so far?

I like it very much, I like Igloolik and the people too.

How are Qaanaaq and Igloolik different?

I think they use skidoos very much here in Igloolik. It’s very cold here. I think it’s fantastic how the women use amautis a lot to carry their children. I think it’s great! Good for babies. The language is different too. In the beginning I couldn’t understand some words, but its better now.

How did you get involved in this project?

When Elise Lund Larsen asked me and I said ‘no thank you.’ Next time she called me from Denmark and asked me again and I said ‘yes’. So I’m here now and I’m happy she asked me.

What do you do in Qaanaaq?

Right now I’m a teacher. I will have two jobs when I get home: priest and teacher because the priest in Qaanaaq died three days ago. So after 3 months, I will only be a priest and not a teacher anymore. I will be very busy when I have the two jobs, but it’s okay.
