- I heard they are making a road for this mining project. Did they start already? From where to where?

- In Mary River, near this big lake. That's where the story of Ataguttaaluk took place. The mine is somewhere there, maybe it is closer to the other side but people from Pond Inlet wanted them to go this way.

- What do you think of the mining project?

- For sure I disagree with them to be there because they are going to make roads all over eventually but if it is also giving jobs to people I don't mind. I disagree because they are going to take all our land eventually. This is the beginning for them. And I don't believe when they say "We have the most, efficient, cleanest mining in modern days because I don't think there are any clean mines.

Everybody voted no but they still mine. There was a little protest outside here before and nothing, nothing happens, we don't own the land apparently.

Why do they even ask people to go say something about the project if they don't let us have like a say, even though they give us a chance. They don't really care about our culture.

thanks a lot Terry, tell em good...

I still get baffled as to why we havent learned enough to avoid these things altogether...mines are harmful to life, and we Inuit do NOT live on money...we live amongst the land, and all of life in it.

One day, we will all realize...and it helps to keep discussing and taking action.
