About this video
I've been feeling a bit discouraged lately, with the sheer amount of stuff that it seems to me that so many people just don't care about...even when it directly or indirectly affects them! So I'm interested in ways of inspiring activism. What do you think?

I don't think that there's one single way to get people involved in activism, but I do think that often the problem is that even when people know about problems, they don't know what to do. I think one of the reasons why the Kony campaign got a lot of participation (comparitively) is that it presented a clear problem (Kony and the LRA), a clear set of actions you could take (put up posters and share other campaign material in order to pressure US politicians) and argued that this would be effective (because US politicians would then send in troops who would capture Kony). Of course, the Kony campaign was tremendously problematic, but I do think this model can be helpful: people need to know that there's something they can do, and that it might be effective.
(Also, on an entirely separate note, perhaps IsumaTV could look into allowing a way of getting email notifications for replies to comments - at the moment the only way I'll know if anyone replies to this is if I revisit the page.)
