Program name: Qaggiq (“Gathering Place” - refers to a large igloo built for the gathering of several families).  This program is IBC’s journal on news and current affairs. Weekly stories range from the streets of Iqaluit where housing is scarce, to legislation in the halls of Parliament Hill and beyond to Inuit hunting grounds where Inuit and regulations sometimes collide. The focus on coverage is from an Inuk perspective. Qaggiq is a half hour program for the 25 to 46 year-old age group produced in Iqaluit, Nunavut.  Language:  Inuktitut

Segment 1: ICC meeting in Ottawa in 1992. ITC President Rose Mary Kupatana, explains issues they have been working on. John Amagoalik talks about inherit Inuit rights. Host Saali Piita also interviews Mary Simon about her governor general Order of Canada award.

Segment 2: A meeting with TFN and Canadian Government about the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement on November 16,1992. Canadian broadcasters announce the future changes to the Canadian map with the creation of Nunavut.

Segment 3: A meeting with Nunavut Land Claim leaders in Iqaluit. Discussed are Nunavut splitting with the Nunatsiavut Land Claim Agreement, fishing and hunting rights in Nunavut and possibly lowering the voting age.

Segment 4: Nunatsiat Commissioner awards Keith Small, Louie Qimiqpik of Kimmirut, Tim Cringle and Annie Mikijjuk Hansen. Charlie Panigoneak and Iqaluit square dancers perform. 

Segment 5: Canada’s Governor General Ray Hnatyshyn visits Iqaluit.
