Akutaq and Igimaq Williamson Bathory

Akutaq Williamson Bathory is a 17 year old grade 12 student in Iqaluit. She has been speed skating since she was 6 years old and has traveled to many parts of Canada with the sport. She competed in Canada Winter Games at the age of 14 with an age excemption on account of her skill. At the recent AWG, which was her second, she garnered 3 golden ulus.

ᐊᑯᑕᖅ ᕕᓕᐊᒻᓴ ᐸᑐᕆ, 17ᓂᒃ ᐅᑭᐅᓕᒃ, ᐃᓕᓐᓂᐊᕐᕕᐊᕈᓯᓕ 12ᓂᒃ ᐃᖃᓗᖕᓂ. ᓯᐊᕆᔮᖅᑐᓂᒃ ᓱᒃᑲᓴᐅᔾᔪᐊᖃᑕᐅᑲᑕᓚᐅᕐᑐᖅ ᐅᑭᐅᖅᑕᖅᑐᒥ ᐱᖑᐊᕕᒡᔪᐊᕐᓂᖅᑕᖃᕐᑎᓪᓗᒍ, ᐱᖓᓱᓂᒡᓗ ᐅᔭᒥᖕᓂ ᐊᖏᕋᐅᔾᔨᓪᓗᓂ. ᑐᒡᓕᕆᓕᖅᑕᖓᓂᒃ ᐃᓚᐅᖃᑕᐅᓪᓗᓂ. 14ᓂᒃ ᐅᑭᐅᖃᖅᑎᓪᓗᒍ ᑲᓇᑕᓕᒫᕐᒥ ᕿᑎᒃᑐᑦ ᑲᑎᖓᑎᓪᓗᒋ ᐃᓚᐅᖃᑕᐅᓚᐅᖅᓯᒪᒋᓪᓗᓂ.

Igimaq Williamson Bathory is a 14 year old grade 9 student in Iqaluit. She has been speed skating since he was 5. This past AWG was her first international competition and she won 3 bronze ulus
