John Keogak was born in Aklavik NT. At the age of 9 he was given the opportunity to move to Sachs Harbour NT, with hopes of trapping Arctic fox. He has been living there ever since. John grew up living off the land, something he has shared for the last 41 years with his wife Donna Keogak.

Donna Keogak was born in Inuvik NT and grew up in Sachs Harbour NT. She grew up living off the land also. She shares memories of what Sachs Harbour was like long ago. Together they have raised their 7 children and now grandchildren to live off the land the same way they did.
