About Hunting With My Ancestors

Hunting With My Ancestors is a television series featuring Zacharias Kunuk as host, hunter, and filmmaker. Showcasing some of the best hunters in the world, in the most inhospitable environment on earth, Hunting With My Ancestors is unlike any series currently on television. Zacharias brings viewers along on an arctic journey with Inuit elders and youth as they follow ancient hunting practices established over 4,000 years ago, adapted resourcefully and effectively to the world today. Amid the backdrop of rapidly changing conditions in the arctic – global warming, mining and development, increasing government restrictions and the impacts of global media on Inuit language and culture - Zacharias explores this continuing activity of hunting at the core of Inuit identity.
