Amanda Shortreed Jerome

Amanda Shortreed (Jerome) is both an Inuvialuk and Gwtch’in artist, born in Inuvik to the late Freddy and Brenda Jerome.
She always loved to craft at a young age, and when covid restrictions started, her mom suggested she start sewing. She needed to find something to occupy her time as gyms were closed, so she started making bracelets. With good friends and conversing over text, the name Short-bead Creations had transpired.

Amanda spends many evenings and weekends, creating many beaded creations from bracelets to necklaces and earrings.

She loves to teach beading classes to all ages and especially enjoys the time spent over a good coffee or tea and sharing her craft or learning a new one.

Jordyn, her daughter, is the face of her Creations as you can see her in many photos, and she loves to model her mom's jewelry.  Jordyn also enjoys picking up the needle, and is inspired by her mom.
