Preservation and Revitalization of Inuit Sign Language (English)
Kawtysie Kakee is a deaf woman who provides us with
insight into the customary Inuit practices she experienced
growing up with her family on the land in Pangnirtung.
She also explains being separated from her family as a
child when she was sent down south to a deaf residential
school. As an adult, Kawtysie became a world renowned
tapestry weaver with national and international recognition.
