I am an employee of IsumaTV's project Digital Indigenous Democracy, and love it! I am a passionate human rights activist and computer geek(ette) who tries to use her powers for good as much as possible. I am particularly interested in global indigenous rights, and worked for the West Australian government's project Redress WA, which gave restitution and letters of apology to those abused in state care, primarily members of the Stolen Generation. I am excited to see where IsumaTV will go!See more

Claire's solo protest in London Ontario

    uploaded by: clairelittoncohn

    channel: Claire @ IsumaTV

I had a solo protest in solidarity with the Nunavut (and Ottawa...and anywhere else that was doing it) protestors. My sign isn't particularly funny or snappy, but it is true, and it did get a lot of people asking me questions, or at least frowning and reading it. One lady who was getting signatures on a petition for women's rights shouted, "Wooooo! Right on!"

My thoughts on responses to the food protests

    uploaded by: clairelittoncohn

    channel: Claire @ IsumaTV

The protests on food prices that happened on June 9 were a revolutionary step towards bringing awareness of what's going on in Nunavut to people in the South. And the most common resopnse I heard was, "Well if you don't like it, you should move!" So I just wanted to share a few thoughts about that...and how stupid it is.

  • Celebrity Injuns

    uploaded by: clairelittoncohn

    channel: Claire @ IsumaTV

You know, the original title of this post was going to be "celebrity douchebags", because I can't believe that anyone would have enough gall to do what the so-called celebrities Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have done: changed their names to something more Native American sounding.  Pratt and Montag changed their names to Runnin… Read more

  • No Clean Feed

    channel: Claire @ IsumaTV

When Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd apologized for the treatment of its Aboriginal peoples, there were mixed responses.  Some of the non-indigenous Australians were enthusiastic about the possibilities for reconciliation; others felt that apologizing would give credence to the Aboriginal land claims, and, you know, they'll just want more restitution.  Give them an inch, and they'll take … Read more
