More discussions.. please.. more sharing of the science .. and more indepth study required... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdxaxJNs15s&feature=player_embedded ... because this is a massively confusing field... many feel they have conclusive evidence of climate change.. many feel it is impossible to make this judgment... be cautious with your activism.. many issues are coming out at this time that need attention, least of which is war, geoengineering/chemtrails, dirty/harmful vaccines, and water fluoridation.. just to name a few... recommended:  Rosa Koire's book "Behind the Green Mask" with the Post Sustainability Institute in the USA ... more at : www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com ..

06 December, 2011 – Ottawa, Canada – The Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC), representing Inuit from Greenland, Canada, Alaska, and Chukotka, Russia, released a document today addressed to global leaders assembled for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meetings in Durban. The Inuit Call to Global Leaders highlights the importance of strong commitments from developed nations, and calls on global leaders not to abandon the commitments that they made under the Kyoto protocol.

Because I connect with activists globally .. I wanted to put this important youtube talk in with what Sheila has contributed .. there are many perspectives and activism to be addressed still... blessings to all - we are birthing a new world ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO5i9hEcd2Q

What about the geoengineering/chemtrail work though?  is this justifiable work for climate change? You can watch Michael Murphy's film "What in the world are they spraying?" for free on youtube... these remedies, in my opinion, are harmful to us all...

People who were inspired by this speech should write to their respective governments. I hope that there is still some power attached to original letters reflecting the true wishes of thoughtful citizens. If there is anything to take away from Sheila's speech, it is that self empowerment stems from action. Taking that action yourself, even if it does not immediately affect the government, may instill inside you a growing momentum to work to better your immediate world....even if someday climate change is found to have been over exaggerated, why not work to create a more sustainable world? Don't cop out citing the economic costs - we're dealing with unquantifiable human costs when it comes to environmental damage and societal malaise.

As I am sure many of you were, I was very inspired and uplifted by Sheila's talk last night. There are several campaigns up and running AT THIS MOMENT due to the hard work of the Canadian Youth Delegation who are holding our governments accountable and representing the voices of all Canadian youth at the UNFCCC in Durban.

in terms of the bolivia mother earth motion mentioned... i find it very frustrating and sad that it is a developing country such as bolivia that has more brains than those of the rich developed such as our own country to take stock of how important these issues are and how important policy changes are from a governmental and legislative perspective.

here in canada, we've got all the science and traditional knowledge in the world...why aren't we actually listening to it? and why aren't the people running this country listening to it, and to us...the youth...to my generation?

Anyone in Toronto may be interested in attending this event on Friday (Dec. 2):
System Change, Not Climate Change

How can we balance between living "green" and using technology that is likely contributing to the negative impact on the environment.. Ie: most communities in the North can only be reached by flight. How can we balance between keeping communities connected, giving members opportunity to explore and learn outside of them while not contributing to large eco footprints through aviation, etc.?

Imagen de Anonymous

With the opening of the Northwest Passage and the interest of countries such as China to use it as a shipping route, what issues do you predict will come about for the North in particular if/when this happens? What can be done to protect the people of the North from any negative outcomes related to this?

Bolivia is passing Mother Earth legislation, giving the natural world equal rights with people. Can we hope other actors will gain strength from this. Are you aware of other areas with this kind of progressive language in the law?

How do you inspire action in young people when they see too many messages against action?

The costs of trying to fix climate change from the perspective of many of these good intentioned, but ill educated leaders are several dozen times more than the actual cost of climate change over the century. This will make the lives of people across the world worse, including Nunavut and other Inuit lands. The cost of living is already much higher there to the point of being almost virutally inviable. How do you think it will be when energy prices sky rocket because rather than letting the market ease renewable sources into replacing fossil fuels the government would force upon the populace technologies that are no where near ready and have extremely poor cost efficiency.

Imagen de Anonymous

The market is not going to ease renewable sources of energy (accurately, and as needed) into replacing fossil fuels as long as governments continue to subisidize those fossil fuels.  We already live in an economy that is vastly influenced by non-market forces. Also, it has been found that fossil fuels, particularly gasoline for cars, have inelastic demands.  Thus, even if the cost of fossil fuels rises, people will still pay.  It's time for ambitious government action towards renewable sources of energy and grassroots transitions away from fossil fuel sources.  Don't wait for economic indicators - they're inaccurate now.

And worse yet the same self-righteous enviromentalists are also the same people who are pushing the policies that would choke off industry in those same regions (look at the Kiggavik mine for example). Leaving no chance to help themselves and leading to the only conclusion that those people who you apparently want to help are going to need to ask for, what ae in many cases, more handouts. But when the government runs out of money paying for these silly policies, there will be no more money to give out.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this event from Fredericton. What a wonderful speaker!

The IPCC estimates a foot rise in sea levels in the next century. guess how much it rised last century? One foot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO3VPBrnkS8&feature=share  Perhaps the continued discussions are best... not to be hasty.. but many people are questioning this supposed fact of climate change ... the folks in this video are just some of many groups actively promoting disclosure of more research, not less... www.cfact.org is another site .. to explore.

It's all nice and good to say that we should stop emissions, but the ramifications both on the liberty of the people and the development of mankind make such propositions foolish. It's all harmful policies wrapped up in the thin wrapping paper of altruism.

Imagen de Anonymous

Cutting emissions would be the best thing for both our liberty and our development! Carbon energy has given a small global elite an enormous reservoir of power over us, and confined current human progress to such to a very narrow field of industrial oil-dependent activity. Whether or not climate change is real, the end of oil would be the best thing to happen to us.

Imagen de Anonymous

Individuals choose to use carbon energy because it's cheaper. When your best argument is that current economics is some sort of conspiracy by elites you don't really know what you're talking about.
