Women of the Arnait Video Collective reenact a traditional women's activity: the use of the qulliq. The qulliq is the seal oil lamp and stove of the old days, the only source of light and warmth. The women tell the story in words and songs as they install the qulliq in their igloo.

Artcirq outdoors and playing games with children! 

Kaugjagjuk is Artcirq’s first major production, created in 2005. It was originally performed in Igloolik for the summer solstice with the participation of more than 20 children and youth from the community.

 3 actors from Kiviuq Returns came to Cambridge Bay to put on a theatre show for the community on Kiviuq Returns, they had a three day training with some of the students from Kullik Ilihakvik school to take part in the show and showed the community in the evening on their last day before leaving to another community.

Our youth are being exposed to millions of pieces of content online. Unfortunately, not all of that content is positive. Global Dignity is working to change that encouraging youth to engage in our digital world in a more dignified way.

Sean Broderick is a Grade 11 teacher at Ataguttaaluk High School. He talks about his experience working in Igloolik, the issues facing educators in the North and the uses of IsumaTV in the classroom.

Patricia Tidd, Grade 9 Teacher at the Ataguttaaluk High School in Igloolik, Nunavut shares her experience. She talks about the challenges of teaching in Igloolik grade 9, the activities that have worked for her with the students and how IsumaTV and the Inuit Culture Education can be helpful for her and her students.

Vincent Pickett, Igloolik's High School Principal, talks about his experience in the Inuit communities of the Canadian Arctic as a teacher and as a principal. He also talks about how the educational materials offered through IsumaTV can be helpful and how the teachers can use them for their classes.

The Social Studies class at 11^th grade learned about Residential Schools and watch one of the testimonies at the Inuit Culture Education area. Students came up with some questions about the subject and were given each one an ipod so that they could interview people around the school.… Read more

Johnny Kublu: There is commercial fishing at Asta Lake on Gifford River which connects with Mary River, there will have to be studies on how the fish are effected by the mine.

The fish there is very tasty. Should be studies done on where the char migrates and its habitats, and on zooplankton and what the fishes eat.

Caleb Oootuvak: The drinking water is being effected near the mine and have restrictions, and Mary River is connected with many other Rivers and Lakes, I am suggesting how for the mine is going to have an effecting regarding drinkable water for hunters who use these many rivers and lakes to fish and hunt.… Read more

Elder Jayco Aluluuq: With the increase proposal, there would be many ships on the waters of Pond Inlet, the barges and ships for the mine will be a huge increase addition to the cruise ships and sea freighters that already occupy these waters in the summer.

Two years ago, Anthony Uluadluak appeared on Uvagut TV as a nineteen year old. He spoke about his dream to become a pilot, how he was about to start training to get his pilot’s license at Harv’s Air in Manitoba, and in Rankin Inlet. This year, Anthony has graduated with his pilot’s license.
