In 1994, fulfilling the wish of 94 year-old Noah Piugattuk to taste whale-skin maqtaq once again before he passes away, a group of Igloolik hunters illegally catches a bowhead whale after years of government prohibition. This event which sparks a legal controversy, the hunters are charged, government policy is resisted, then changed..

Here is my first motion design project, called Mapiya a Sioux term meaning Sky, filmed at two locations one a neighbour of VFS called ooothird, and the other in Capilano Reserve in North Van. I made the entire project on my own, I got some help filming myself in the beggining thanks to my schoolmate, and made the design of it.

In this short video based on a traditional story, Skywoman returns to earth, only to discover that humans have wreaked havoc on the environment, making our future dangerously unstable.
