The glaciers of the Pamir Mountains, which provide over 50% of Central
Asian water resources, are rapidly melting at a rate similar to
Greenland’s continental glaciers. Three generations of Pamiri women
share the impacts of the melt and decreasing water levels
In December 2008, the low-lying Carterets Islands were badly damaged by
king tides and violent storm surges. Nicholas Hakata, a local youth
leader and community representative, explains that he and his family
have been surviving on mainly fish and coconuts, and battling the swamp

Carrie: There has been an increase of the ships that go here and a decrease in the narwal population, I think Baffinland should deal with current issues before prposing to do anything else.
Baffinland probably has monitored and researched how their area was affected. He is asking what the impacts were on their environment and water. He has not seen it. Hunters were affected, same as him. He believes there will be 200 ships coming. Ships may not necessarily be regulated, they should be monitored. Maybe communities will be impacted and their concerns should be heard.… Uqalimakkanirit

This parka is worn by the original camp leader and shaman Kumaglak. His
murder in the presence of the Evil Shaman, Tungajuaq, sparks the bloody feud
between Atanarjuat and Oki's families. The raven feathers sewn on the skin of
the parka indicate that the man wearing it is a shaman.
This movie was made as part of the Haidawood Media Project over a two week period in the summer of 2007. Haidawood aims to make short stop motion animated movies with the help of Haida youth, artists, and language teachers, to help promote and teach the Haida language.
Inuit memories and experiences of shamanism, and oral histories about the last shamans practicing in the region of Igloolik, Nunavut. Interviewees range from young people to elders and politicians, but they all share a belief that things happen, and that shamanism is still a living religion.
In Qimuksik (Dog Team)one family travels in the immense and beautiful arctic during spring. Inuaraq teaches his young son how to survive in the old way: driving the dogs, building the igloo, catching seals on the open water, running down caribou to feed the family.
