EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION)
The Association for Native Development for the Performing and Visual Arts (A.N.D.P.V.A.) is currently seeking an Executive Director who is an experienced, highly motivated individual capable of leading our organization toward fiscal sustainability and ensure quality, integral programming for the community. The Executive Director will also provide strategic direction and overall leadership for our Indigenous not-for-profit Centre, its membership, and its staff.
ANDPVA’s mandate is to provide access of opportunity toward artists of Indigenous ancestry working within any discipline. Our mission is to help create, support, and develop a self-sufficient community of Indigenous artists, to preserve our traditional knowledge, and to reflect our ever-evolving cultural expressions.
The Executive Director will bring forth exceptional leadership skills, not-for-profit management experience, as well as a passion / knowledge for Indigenous Arts and Culture.
Overall Responsibilities;
The Executive Director responsibilities will include; overseeing / managing programs, services, operations, strategic development, grant and proposal writing, fund-raising, management of budgets, staff training, contract negotiations, and other duties as required.
The Executive Director will be responsible for the implementation of ANDPVA’s strategic plan, directly follow the mission of the organization, as directed by the ANDPVA membership and its Board. The Executive Director will report regularly to the Board, on all key programming, financial, and administrative decisions.
Qualifications;
* The Executive Director will have an in depth knowledge of all phases of business, not-for-profit management, financial management, grant and proposal writing, human resources, marketing, public and government relations
* The Executive Director will have excellent leadership, communication, organizational and management skills
* Completion of a University Degree in related field (and / or) significant related work experience
* Must have Senior Artistic Management experience, in the not-for-profit sector.
* A Proven track record in fundraising / sponsorship / partnerships
* Experience with strategic planning, goal and target setting
* Ability to work as a team and independently, manage a number of projects in a fast paced environment
* A deep awareness of Indigenous culture / artistic practices and have an understanding of Indigenous governance practices and post-colonial social justice issues
Additional Information;
Salary range $45,000-65,000 based on qualifications and experience.
