Community members from the North Baffin region tell stories about how they used to live and what animals they saw and hunted. They talk about the history of the Baffin region before mining started.

Gathered in the large tent, Zacharias Kunuk and his guests tell stories, drum dance, and play string games. Later, in the show we visit Susan Avingaq and Madeline Ivalu's tent where we watch Susan make bannock, while Madeline plays string games and sews.

Members from the five affected communities of the Mary River Mine expansion meet to disscuss the future of their communities. Accompanying this discussion are storytelling, drum dancing and singing . Sewing and making bannock, elders also invite us into their tents and show us their tradional life.

One day in the life of Apayata Kotierk in advance of the shoot. Apayata talks about Noah Piugatuk, hunting and feeds his dogs.

Noah Piugattuk was born in 1900 and lived to be 96 years old. He spent most of his life living a traditional Inuit life on the land and over the course of his lifetime saw the decline of traditional practices that had persisted for thousands of years and the creation of a new relationship with the Canadian colonial state.

In this interview, Noah talks about climate and hunting.
