Igloolik has received a tag to harvest a Bowhead whale. Kingulliit Productions would like to film the hunt and create a documentary film around this event. The proposed Bowhead Whale hunt film and involvement will contribute to communities preserving the hunt, and to understanding more about the rich history and culture of hunting.… Read more
Zacharias Kununk was born in Kapuivik on Baffin Island in Canada, and attended school in Igloolik. He carved and sold soapstone sculptures to afford movie admissions. As his skill improved, he was able to buy cameras, and photographed Inuit hunting scenes.… Read more
Beginning in 2010 in Arviat Nunavut, the Nanisiniq Arviat History Project is a multi-media history project which brings together Inuit youth and Elders to re-discover Inuit history.
